Docking Station That Can Be Used For Iphones And Other Phone Makes

I am looking to buy a speaker dock to be compatible with an i phone. As my son has a windows phone I was wondering if there is such a thing as a universal docking speaker which can be used for different makes of phone. Or is there there some sort of adaptor which can convert it to a universal model.
Any recommendations on brands much appreciated
