Ok, am i being thick? Don't answer that! My storage is nearly full on my handset. A friend suggested buying more storage .79p for 50mb, ive done it but that's for the icloud which i have no clue about anyway. So how do i get more storage for my handset? My storage says its mainly taken up with apps and pics which i want to keep and i have the least amount of apps anyway as deleted quite a few to make space.

I know very little about the iPhone but does it take a memory card ?
My android does but there are stupid restrictions as to what I can put on it (unless rooted).

However just because you want to keep your pictures shouldn't necessarily mean that you need to keep them on your iPhone. (Indeed, you'd be mad not to copy them to somewhere else anyway, such as a desktop or laptop PC, in case you lose your phone or it simply crashes). Decide which photos you really couldn't bear to be without at all times and leave just those on your phone. Then delete all of the others (having already backed up all of your photos to your desktop/laptop first, of course!).

Arent my photos backed up in my cloud. Yhe only thing i dont like, correct me if im wrong is, if things in icloud, you can only view on a desktop. I really like to show my friends pics on my phone but if im out and they are in the icloud, then im guessing i wouldnt be able to do it.

Read your link Buenchico, thank you, so nothing simple then. Why cant things be easy?!?
You can access your photos that are stored in your iCloud on your iPhone

yet more reasons to go android and removable media...
In your iPhone settings,
go to Photos and Camera.
Click on iCloud Photo Library.
And also tick Optimise Storage.

All your full fat photos go into the cloud. Lo red copies remain on your phone. You will be able to view and show them as before, but your device will have been freed up of hard drive space.

You can download or email the full fat version of the photo anytime.
High resolution not Hi red.

Incidentally, you get 5Gb of iCloud with the phone. You may not have had to pay for more unless your storage was full.
