Can we have a link please, Seekerz? Or is it a subscription only website?

If we can't have a link, can you tell us whether you're trying to print a whole web page, an image file or a pdf document? ('Cos otherwise we might be struggling a bit!)

its a subs only website for all the Telegraph puzzles etc, Chris ...as far as I can guess, it's a pdf document ... and while it shows normal size A4 - it comes thru very large, I'm only getting a quarter to an ordinary page ...does that make any sense - given that my computer skills are non-existant :))
OK, I'll assume that you're viewing a pdf document.

So I suppose that your next step is usually to hit Ctrl P (or go to File > Print). That will bring up your printer's dialogue box, which should include a 'Properties' option. Have you clicked on it?

Exactly what you'll see when you click on 'Properties' depends on the make and model of your printer (which makes it hard for me to give you precise guidance).

However you're looking for the bit where you're given options such as 'Normal', 'Fit to page', etc. (With my Canon printer I need to click on the 'Page Setup' tab to get there).

One of those options ought to give you the result that you're seeking (with 'Fit to Page' possibly being the first one to try).

Sorry, it's a CanonMP550 printer ....
You'll probably see the same as I do then when you click on 'Properties' (I've got a Canon MG5350), so it's the 'Page Setup' tab that you'll need when you click on 'Properties'.

Chris ...when I click onto Properties I get Taskbar Start Menu Toolbars ....where do I go from there please ??
Well that's novel!

When you hit Ctrl P (or go to File>Print or possibly click on a printer icon somewhere) you should see a box roughly like this one:

When you then click on 'Properties' you should then see something roughly like this:

(Those are 'rough match' images from the web. What you see might be a bit different)

You seem to be accessing a completely different 'Properties' option, that's got nothing to do with your printer!

Are you sure that you're starting by pressing Ctrl and P together (or by any other valid way of calling on your printer)?

oh shooooo !! told you I was dense ....ok got it got the page set up..clicked fit to page ..should it show something/anything ??
From there, you should just need to click on OK, and then on OK again, to start printing in the way that you've requested.

Ummm....I now have another copy of the puzzle, same size as before, but before that I printed out ( not intentionally ) my question and your answers of this thread !!

Your instructions couldn't have been clearer but I did warn you I was/am dense - and I appreciate your help sincerely, but it's time to bin this one and hope the gremlins sort themselves out.

Thank you again for your time and efforts, couldn't have asked for better help from anyone ....cheers, Steff xx
I'm off to bed anyway but remember that the old trick of 'switch it off and switch it on again' often works. (i.e. if your computer is sending dodgy information to your printer the problem might simply disappear when you turn the computer off and then on again).

Good luck and good night!
