my daughter is the proud owner of an iphone 5c.

Whats the best way to secure it if its lost/stolen?

I read something about an IMEI number but would that help locate it if it was lost/stolen and how would that be possible? is there software that will let you do that yourself?

If she's set a 4 digit passcode then it's pretty secure. Did you know there's an app called 'find my iphone' in the settings? It relies upon someone else having an apple device to find it but it's a pretty good 'tool'.
