If I purchased one in the USA to save money, Is it going to work ok in UK?

Yup - you'll possibly need to get a power adaptor so it doesn't melt, although I think I might have read somewhere that Apples might have a clever power switching device in them so that they can adapt to different voltages in different countries - best to check with Apple!
I'm thing I'm correct in saying that the Mac Mini comes with the transformer stuff in a big block outside of the Mac itself (couldn't fit it in).

So you'll be able to buy the Mini there, and then just get a UK plug or power adapter (if the block needs to be different too), from either the UK or the US.
