Does anyone know how to insert a picture into the body of a Yahoo Mail email? I do mean 'insert', not 'attach', I know how to do that. Thanks.

Does it work if you just copy and paste it in?
I've just sent myself an email with an image pasted in and it worked
I have totally misunderstood the question , thought you meant photos.

Please ignore.
Photos placed into the body of an E/mail are in my opinion, a nuisance.

They are often too large and require an element of scrolling to view the full picture.

Attached pictures are easily saved by the E/mail recipient and can be viewed 'full frame' from the photo folder.

If after what I have said, you still want to put a Photograph/Picture into the main body of an E/mail, then the following needs to be followed. :-

Sorry if I misled anyone. I should have said that I want to insert a pic/image stored on my computer - not an 'inline' pic.
Send an Email to yourself and see if the following gives what you want.

At the foot of the Email you are going to send there is a 'tool bar' alongside the 'Send' button. The first item is a paperclip and that is followed by an arrowhead pointing downwards. Click the arrowhead and then click in the drop-down menu 'Attach from my Computer'. This will give you a list of files from which you should find the picture you want and a click on it will place it in the body of the Email; perhaps Not in the position which you would like. Nevertheless, send the Email to yourself and see what you think because the picture will be where it should be in the Email when it arrives at your 'In-box'.

Thanks Hans for your suggestion,
Unfortunately, all that happens is that the pic appears at the foot of the e-m and not in the body, where I want it. This is because it has been ‘attached’, which is just what the drop-down says it does. Also, it is not possible to insert an image contained within a document – and this is really my goal.
Of course, the answer to my problem should be available from Yahoo themselves, but their ‘Help’ is worse than useless and it is impossible to get in touch with them, either by e-m or Live Chat.
Why it is not possible to simply copy-and-paste from a document is beyond me, and, Heaven forbid, Yahoo should actually care about this inability. All it seems to content itself with is producing ‘innovations’ that make the use of Yahoo ever more complicated and, to be blunt, a bloody nuisance. Thanks for your interest.
It is possible for me to paste images into the body of yahoo emails.
Simply put the image you want onto your clipboard and paste it (using right click and paste) into the relevant bit of your email. If you then type something else the image appears where you put it, not at the bottom
Question Author
Thanks for that.
I don’t know which version of Yahoo you are using, but on mine, the option to paste an image copied from a document is just not there.
I'm not sure what option you mean. Do you mean when you right click on your mouse there is no paste option?
Question Author
Yes, that's exactly what I mean. 'paste' is greyed out.
Are you sure the image is on your clipboard?
I'm not sure this is a yahoo issue.
I apologise if by chance I have been leading you in the wrong direction. However, I am sure that ^^^ fiction-factory is leading you along the correct path. Accordingly, I now suggest you try the following.:-

Right click on the AnswerBank Logo ( top left of this page) and, within drop-down menu, click 'Copy Image'. Next, open your E/mails and send an Email to yourself; into which you can insert the Answerbank Logo in the body of the Email by a right click on your mouse and then clicking 'Paste'.

Hopefully, you should end up with something along the lines of.:-

Thanks for your suggestion, but you are suggesting I insert an 'inline' image. I have already said that this is not what I am looking to do, and yes, I can do that.
I want to insert an image stored on my computer, not from the internet.
Thanks
The principle is the same though, theGOG. Is there anyone around you could ask to show you/do it for you? I'm sure it's only a click away for you. I can do it and I use yahoo- I am not aware there are different versions
What sort of file is the image in?
I am sorry that I appear to be continually advising incorrectly. However, whilst fiction-factory is remaining in the frame, I am staying in this thread, because f-f is advising 100% correctly and I wish to support an ABer's efforts to sort-out issues for you.

The image I'd like to put in my e-m was made in WordArt and it's in a Word doc.
