24 Gargle - anagram of 'Lager' and 'G' for German.
I agree - but where does 'British' fit into the clue?
Gargle is an idiom for alcoholic drink
I thought it might just be a slang/colloquial word for a drink/going for a pint/whatever.
Agree British slang term for drink like bevy etc
