Over the years people have claimed that excessive reading, excessive TV watching and excessive computer use (including playing video games on devices such as Xboxes) can all damage eyesight.

However the evidence for all of them seems to be very limited and (importantly) the key word in all of the above is 'excessive'.

As you're not obsessive in your Xbox usage it's very unlikely that you could possible damage your vision. (Indeed, there are certain eye conditions which some studies suggest might actually benefit from playing video games).

Stop worrying and start having fun!
Your eyes are simply looking at light. Albeit changing light. It's what they evolved to do. Can't see how one can claim permanent eyesight issues just for using them any more than I wear out my spectacle lenses by using them too much. If you overdo it and get eyestrain temporary then how that feels becomes a good incentive to give it a rest.

The riskier bit is not managing your time, getting addicted, and losing out on having a life with a large variety of interests. Enjoy, but in moderation.
I would destroy every single xbox and PS in the universe..anti social and habit forming..it has been proved that it desensitises kids to death etc ..why kids are killing kids now with not a thought...no medikit can help in the real world though...hate them hate them..we are going to end up with pasty faced youth with no communication and/or social skills !! Hate them !
The short answer...no.
I does occur to me that, not console games exclusive, I have heard that it is not good for the eyes to be permanently focusing on short distance items. That it is good practice to get away and go look at something in the distance for a while. Especially for the young. I don't know how accurate that advice is, but I'm sure a search of the medical sites could advise.
