bookmarks keep being deleted!

Could anybody please tell me why all my bookmarks and bookmark toolbar folder keeps being deleted every couple of weeks or so?ive checked the settings but cant find the problem.This happens on explorer and mozilla firefox.thanks.
prev how can i safely return my computer to factory settings?

my bet would be some sort of spyware or a virus.
