what is LED conversion rate to old-fashioned bulbs? I recently purchased some LED wall spots and cannot see how they cool. is that not necessary?

I think you need to check the number of lumens of light the LED lamp puts out. Assume about 16 lumens per watt for incandescent bulbs. So a 60w incandescent would be 960 lumens or thereabouts, you'd be looking for.

LED gives of very little heat comparable to old-fashioned bulbs. Hence the power saving.
