Thanks to all who tried to help. I've now found a source for a USB charger for Nokia phones that works! The company were good enough to answer an email query before buying (and promised a refund if it didn't work) and said that the device would work because it had been modified for Nokia's newer voltages. Very quick delivery and it works. It also comes with adapters for Ericsson, Motorola, Samsung and Siemens. Costs �8.99 plus postage from
