Experiencing Problems with Steam Need help

Hi, the problem is my nephews system hangs/crashes after about 30 mins into a game of TFC. I've removed any viruses & changed the graphics card. No other problems encountered apart from this. Any ideas or suggestions or similar experiences?

turn off sound card acceleration

run.

if ok, is sound card prob.

turn down video card performance one notch (ctrl panel//system///performance//video). This should help.

Make sure you have tons of hard drive space and defrag the drive.

u can check the sound n stuff by going to start//run//type : dxdiag...go to 'sound'
