I keep getting chucked off this ie I could be having a chat with someone but then they are told that I am displayed as being offline (and it prompts me to sign in again)

Anyone got any idea why?

This is quite a common problem reported by users from time to time, it's more times than others related to messenger network problems, as they do often get a little overloaded, another thing is sometimes e-mail accounts can be created but with faults, it could be the account is trying to access something that is giving it a problem and this can cause the sort of problems you have, hope this helps.
your internet connection isnt strong enough!!!!

Thanks for the replies PvtSniper and Callumsm14.

What I forgot to mention (which is probably relevant) was that this problem has only started to happen in the last couple of days - prior to that it had been fine. I have broadband and the info says that I am connected at a speed of 100.0 Mbps (if that makes any sense!)

Tonight someone told me to turn the router off and then on again which I have just done - do you reckon that will do the trick?

100 mps is the speed of your network card not your broadband, resetting router might make a difference, if the problem has only just started happening then obviously something has changed, do you have any security software or anything you've just installed?
