I'm one of a few on here that moan ( If you can call it that"!) but reality kicks in when you come onto the likes of this site and read what problems people have in the real world, my wife & I are in very good health for old farts and are thankful, when I read about peoples Illness and their health problem, I think to myself, shut your mouth TWR you can get out, you can get on a roof & repair your house at 66yrs, can do and help anyone that ask help from me, "MABEY" I should put my gear into action, before trying to move the car!

I think most people have problems of one sort or another TWR, it's just that we may not be aware of them.

You are right Tony.
I agree with you TWR - those of us in reasonable health and agility don't know the half of it - but it's good for us to mix on this site with people with all sorts of problems, physical and otherwise. We learn from them, and hopefully we can share some of our stuff with other people too. No maybe about it, IMO!
Agreed. When I have a self piteous mope about my diabetes and thyroid nonsense I usually give myself a good kick up the arris when I realise how many of the very good and very wonderful people on here have awful things to deal with. This site is a good perspective giver. xx
I agree, kval - and whether it's the anonymity or not, people (including me) don't seem to mind talking about stuff they might otherwise not reveal face to face.
I don't have any health problems.

OH has an ulcer. He was diagnosed at 13...that causes im problems now and then.
We all have our problems, some big, some small, and if you're feeling rough because of them, even if small compared to others, these problems will have an affect on you because its happening to you.

I was feeling emotionally rough last weekend but I've turned it into a positive by doing something about it. I've started a new diet, bought a new pair of shoes and planning on doing some other stuff to make myself feel better. And yes, seeing what other people are going through can help you gain some perspective in your life.

I'll stop writing drivel now ;o)
Im I a real slump at the moment, know what it is but can't seem to get past it. Need a kick up the *** really.

I spent Thursday at a London Hospital having a pre-op exam for an op. due in about 2 weeks. Allegedly I'm in pretty good nick for a 63 year old, I walk a lot with the hounds, still Weight-train a couple of times a week and generally take care, so not ill, just need a spot of maintenance.
I must admit TWR beats me when he says he gets on the roof though, ladder-work is something I won't do anymore
I have lots of health problems as well as being registered blind, but i ignore that and concentrate on helping other people. who are lonely, alone, depressed or generally unwell. Last time i invited a group of them to my house for tea/coffee ,, afresh cream cake each and a chat. it was a huge success and they stayed three and a half hours!
It didnt cost me very much and everyone seemed cheerful when they left. Sometimes people just need someone who will sit and listen to them.
66 isn't old these days TWR but yes, I agree that AB can be a great reality check.
Baldric....he only goes on the roof to get away from me.....☺

Hope all goes well for the op.....xx

Gness, I did wonder about that, guess he pulls the ladder up behind him!

(and Thanks.)
Yes, the man with only one shoe to his name moans until he meets a man with only one leg, and he cheers up considerably.

But his joy is short lived because it is a left shoe that he is missing whilst the second man only has a left leg and he was hoping to do a deal. :-)
Best of luck with the op, Baldric.

Cheers Tony, it'll be good to have a lie-in for a change.
Yeah, know what you mean about lie in's Baldric. Back to the slave cave for me on Monday ( 4.30am get ups ) so last chance for a lie in tomorrow for me.
Lie in?
Lie ins?
You people are having lie ins?

I have to be up before 11am every day!

Unless I'm on holiday that is......
LOL, booon idle.
;-)
