Universal Phone Contacts App Or Software?

is there any software that i can copy ALL my contacts to - phone and email - from ALL my phone handsets and sims and keep a sort of main database of everything, and then copy them back to any phone as and when i choose?

i have used various dedicated software like my phone explorer, and mobilego - but they are kind of separated in to individual phones and i end up with repeated entries and some are not compatible to copy to a new phone

Not sure about email but years ago, before smart phones I used to use mobiledit which was ok.
