Digital Recorder Didn't Record

Last night I set my twin-tuner digital recorder to record ITV at 8p.m and BBC4 also to record at 8pm, both for 2 hours. The chosen programmes came up as underlined on the display , meaning they were set to record. It recorded ITV but only recorded the prog starting at 9p.m on BBC4 - exactly the same thing happened last week. Can anyone explain please?
