Flash Player Installation

can anyone tell me how you temp close internet explorer as every time I try to install flash player it gets to 50% and then tells me to close explorer, I have tried the red button but it still does not work, as you probably can tell I am not that good with computers ,thanks very much .

go to Task manager > Ctrl+Alt+Delete and then Applications and if its running close it from there
