When I switch my Tomtom on it asks me to take the disc out. Once I've done that it says put it back in again. On and on. What is it really telling me to do?

Not quite the answer I was expecting... Like, does it need an update, or a new widget.

you should regularly attach it to your laptop/pc and check for updates.

not sure what the "disc" might be..
