It seems to me that you are Not attaching a photograph but somehow are placing it into the body of the e/mail. If this is the case then you should be able to click onto a corner of the photograph in the e/mail and diagonally drag it down to a smaller size.

Yes i definitely sent it as an attach.not an insert. But I tried your suggestion, the corner arrows for adjustment didn't appear. Thanks anyway!!!!
Strange. What E/mail service are you using.? Was the photograph one which you have stored in a file on your computer.? What equipment are you using...Laptop/desktop/smart phone or whatever (Make, model, operating system etc)

Mozilla Firefox.....photo stored on file.....desktop pc......Vista. Thanks again
Hi codswallop.....I am not promising but would liuke to crack this one.

It so happens that I am using Windows Vista on the Desktop which I am using at this very moment. However, whilst I have Firefox installed, it is a Browser and what I now wish to know is your e/mail programme.(Gmail, Yahoo, Windows mail or similar.)

looks like windows mail according to the post title
Question Author
I normally use Gmail but when I want to send a photo(s) I use Windows mail as i find I can adjust the pixels size easier with that prog.
aelmpvw was correct. It's Windows Mail which is being discussed. OK I am also using it.

Sorry to be asking further questions but I wish to fully appreciate your predicament.

How do you attach a photograph.? Do you click the 'paperclip' in the toolbar or do you click Insert and then 'Picture'.?

Incidentally, I am somewhat lost when you say you are able to alter pixel sizes but the pictures remain too large. Please tell me the reason for your altering the pixels if you are attaching a photograph from your Picture folder/file and the method you use.

Question Author
I select the photo from the folder right click >send to>mail recipient Windows mail opens up with a choice of sizes large medium or small ie 1024X768 that I assumed were in pixels and then clicked on "attach".......to the email.
Thanks codswallop. I now have the picture.(please forgive pun)

Instead of your method I suggest:- Open Windows Mail and you should see a toolbar at the top with 'Create Mail' as the first item....Click it open and reveal a blank e/mail which will have another toolbar with send as the first item. Look along the toolbar and you will see a paper clip which you need to click and then take matters from there.

It could be that the toolbars have been hidden. If so, please post again so that, if necessary, I can tell you how to re-establish them.

Hi Al thanks for your continued interest but it came out the same ...Large.Would you please do one more thing and then we'll call it a day Using Win mail would you send a photo to yourself using the method you suggested in your last email. After it has been sent,go to the left hand column and click on "SENT"where any photos may have been sent in the past, and click on the photo you have just sent to yourself and see if you get the same result as me ,,,,,,,a full screen photo Thanks again !!!
codswallop....I am genuingly trying to be helpful, and never give any advice in AB unless I have tried it for myself.

There are numerous ways of putting photographs into E/mails and I think the most important thing is that the recipient is able to save it and do whatsoever they wish thereafter. Consequently, if the photograph is oversized when you check-back on what you have sent, providing there is a paper clip for the recipient to click onto in the E/mail, all should be o k.

Come back again in this thread if you think I may be able to be of further 'help' to you.
