I am getting problems with my top joints of fingers on my mouse hand and wrist. It's because of the position of the mouse. I wondered if there are any mouse designs which are not hand clasped on top and wrist resting on something? I end up holding the mouse upside-down as it reduces the strain! I went on Amazon and there were 7000 mice all looking the same. I wasn't sure what to type in- orthopaedic came up with no results...!

Don't know if it is any help but my preference is for a trackball. That said Logitech stopped making their wireless trackball marble, just to be bloody minded I think, :-( but I believe they still do a corded one.
Oh that Logitech Trackball one (on the Amazon link) has brought tears to my eyes. Earlier this week I had to go to a meeting at a site I've not been before and I got landed with controlling the mouse for the onscreen presentation (a mix of landscape, portrait, A3,A4 Word or Excel sheets). It was that mouse and I just could not fathom it at all and made a complete arse of myself in front of everyone.
:-)

The ball is moved by the thumb leaving the fingers free to press the buttons. Most folk who try to use my trackball for the first time try to move the ball with their fingers, which is as awkward as one could imagine.
Ah I see they now do an M570, which looks similar.
