Hi I have a type b broandband rerouter but a laptop I ma interested in is version g would they both still be able to communicate. Thanks

Hello mollymoo. Most 11g routers are downwardly compatible to 11b, however the benefits of 11g will be lost as the network will run at 11b speeds (11Mb as opposed to 54Mb for 11g).
OBonio is correct. It will work but be slower than a connection of type g.

But routers are pretty cheap these days. It might be worth upgrading to a newer model. Try www.broadbandstuff.co.uk
