how do you set up voice-mail on iPhone 5 ? If it's already on, I need to find it to see if I have messages!

Voice mail is usually activated by your phone provider, and I think it's usually switched on by default, but they should be able to tell you that. Also, the number you need to dial to listen to voice messages varies according to provider - I dial 123 on Three to listen to mine. You should be able to find that information on their website (Three, Orange, Vodafone, etc.)
