I have recently bought a dell 15 laptop but the burner is rubbish.eg.when I put an audio cd in to burn to iTunes it does not burn all the tracks it stops after about 12 tracks.

When you say 'burn to iTunes', do you mean rip instead? If so, rip it with Windows Media Player then drag and drop them into iTunes, which will then convert them to AAC.

For dvd burning, you can try another third party software
