Shortcut For Lockscreen

i have an asus x54c and i am wondering what the shortcut for lock screen is?

i want to bve able to press 'function' (fn) and then a button to make the screen go to the log on screen in an instant...

i cant see any symbols that correspond though

i dont want it to sleep or hibernate etc.

Try fn + F7.

that makes the screen go black, then f7 to open again - not what i meant, but it will do, thanks daffy
