Why Has Ebay Has Changed It's Icon Legend Colours?

I have noted that as a seller eBay has changed from coloured icon legends to monotone which I personally find confusing.
I've asked staff at eBay why and they don't seem to know the answer.
Occasionally the old easy to read coloured icons come back but they very soon change back to this boring monotone.
Anyone know why?
