Polaroid Tv

Bought this from Asda last month for my bedroom. At 3am every other day it wakes me up with a buzzing sound and the stand by light flashing. Rang the helpline and was told that freeview updates at that time unfortunately. My other tv, a Sony ,Does not do this?

Freeview definitely updates programme guides at around 3am. (My Freeview box does it at 0308 every day). A flashing light is a common way of indicating that the update is in progress but I've absolutely no idea why there should be a buzzing sound.

do you mean you leave it on stand by while you try to sleep,
you must be MAD. lol

Go into the menu, look for updates and then turn it off.

Different makes of TV's can behave differently.

Answer is to turn-off the TV completely when you have finished viewing.

It's only on stand by whilst i am asleep & turned off at mains otherwise. I'll have a go at what you recommend jrtv thanks.

Personally,I would Not turn off 'up-dates'. You could try clicking the volume right down before hitting 'standby'.

Thank The Lord I found this post - my Polaroid tv has been doing the same thing - 3am waking only me up and driving me mad! At least I know what it is now but I couldn't find any settings re the update so will just unplug it - thanks :)
