I thought you could use as many as you wanted to providing you had enough credit. However, my knowledge of mobile usage is very limited.
If you go over the limit then it opens a new page and gets sent as more than one page.
Texting is actually called SMS (short messaging service) and is generally limited to 160 characters although I believe this is dependant upon the coding used by your network.
