I use I-Player quite a lot on my laptop and have seen the recent TV adverts about watching it on your TV. They mentioned needing a set top box-does this include the Sky Box? Will there be a channel included specifically for BBC I-Player does anyone know? If not I'm not too worried as I don't mind watching via my laptop but would be interested to know what it will entail.

It looks like a lot of faffing about, especially as you can do all that it provides for no extra money whatsoever. Who wants yet another black box gathering dust under the TV ! ::
1....BBC i player, and the equivalent for other TV stations, like Channel 4. You can watch watch this in seconds on any PC in Britain with a WiFi connection. Its completely FREE...all you need to be legal is a TV license.
2....As FHG suggests, if you want to watch on your own TV, just connect the laptop, or desktop into the appropriate socket on your TV and away you go.

That depend upon what output and input options are available on your laptop and TV respectively. I suggest trying a new post, telling us what ports there are on your laptop and what input sockets there are on your TV. (Modern laptops and TVs are likely to only need a fairly cheap cable whereas older devices might also require a gizmo for converting the signal).
