Kindle Problem

I have an original Kindle, which I adore. When on holiday recently, I put it on to charge one night, and instead of charging the battery, it drained it completely (don't ask me why). I was unable to turn it back on, or even reboot it. To cut a long story short, I eventuality managed to get it back up and running.

However, since then, I have another (minor) problem with it. When I go to the Home page, the books are no longer listed in the order in which they have been read, and the book I am currently reading does not appear at the top of the list as it should.

I have tried to find out why, I have tried altering the settings, but to no avail. So I'm hoping one of you lovely ABers can help me!!!

Problem 1: I've had that happen to me on a couple of occasions. No idea what causes it, except that it only seems to happen if I leave it in the case when charging, so it's possible that it's just a question of ensuring that the USB plug is inserted properly and the orange charging light is on.

Problem 2: On the home screen, press the Up section of the controller 'till you are at the very top, then use the left/right sections to scroll though until you get to Most Recent First, press the middle button.

Thanks, rojash, but that doesn't work, Ive already tried it. Each time I stop reading, and return to the home page, the book I am reading no longer appears at the top of the list. I know it might sound trivial, and I can still read the books I want to but this is really bugging me. I have noticed that the book usually appears at the bottom, rather than the top of the list.
Well, you could always do what I do:
I always organise by collections.
I have a collection called 00New (that's a double zero)
When I first get a book, I put it in the 00New collection
When I've read it, I remove it from the collection, and add it to the appropriate Author or Series collection.

They ARE arranged by collection - the largest one being the Read It one. I truly can't see a way round it, I've tried everything I can think of. I shall just have to grin and bear it? Thanks for trying, anyway xxx
have you contact the kindle help pages/forum on amazon - always extremely useful IMO
