My silly son, despite warnings, fell asleep with his laptop on,and promptly kicked it off his bed.It landed on the USB stick bending it and also breaking it.Anyone know if there is any way of recovering the data that was on the stick? He has lost a lot of work for collage and some programmes and never listens to his mother!
Despite wanting to tell him I told you so,I do feel sorry for him,he spent all weekend trying to re do work and is annoyed that it was his largest stick(32GB)
Is there somewhere he could maybe send it to?
Thanks
Aya

Sorry I think it can be recovered , not if it is actually broken.
Tell him "I told you so" loudly and often.
I doubt anything can be done if it is physically broken.
It rather depends on which bits are broken. If the connections onto the printed circuit board have torn off then give up. If the connections to the USB plug only are broken then a repair is possible.

What jomifl said. If you're a dab hand with a soldering iron it can be repaired, even the printed circuit tracks appears to be broken you can patched up with copper wire - it's just matter of prising it apart and investigate which bits are broken and do the repair under a magifying glass.
