Why not pop them onto a memory stick?
Mine sit on an EHD. I dont have to rely on other people's servers.
Isn't that what Facebook is for ? I put school photos on Friends Reunited & they've lost them with the new setup. I gotta dig deep in cupboards to find them again :(

Back up on CD/DVDs so long as you have the Apps to open them.
mine are at Tescos, 'every little helps'...
wouldnt put all your trust in memory sticks, i have had a couple break up on me...
I've gone for overkill!

Originals on my hard drive
Copies on external hard drive
Copies on SD cards
Copies on DVDs
Copies on USB memory stick
and finally...
Copies on my daughter's computer!

Good idea, better than having too few backups and losing all your photos.

How about storing pictures on SkyDrive from Microsoft, a free service for storing files.

Note there are plenty of other "free" places to store photos as well like Dropbox, Google Drive and so on.
According to my point of view you can save photos or images on SMO (social media optimization) web directories like Google+, Facebook and many more.
Furthermore, you can also use some storage device like pen drive, CD-DVD and lots more.
What about Picasa?

Not a great idea as often the image quality is reduced when they are put on these social media sites.

Also once up there anyone can see them, which may not be want you want. You may want them STORED but not VISIBLE.

Far better to use a storage area on the internet like Google Drive, Microsoft SkyDrive, Dropbox etc. These are all free (though you can pay more for more storgae space)
Photobucket.

Set to private and nobody else can see them.
