Hi,
I'm off to the USA next week for a fortnight and id like to take my Ipad abroad to use the Internet. However, I don't want a massive surprise bill when I get back. I am meeting a friend (who lives in America!) whilst out there- can she buy me a pay as you go sim that I'd be able to use out there and use local data charges therefore?! My iPad is on orange but I've heard iPads are not locked and any sim can be used- is this true??! Thanks!

cant answer the locked to Orange thing but BT have a setup where if you are on their broadband, there is a free international wifi network piggybacked on people's home hubs all over the world. Add free wifi in cafes and hotels and you may not need to pay.
I travel between nz, aus, Sth Africa , and Zimbabwe I just change the card and the apn setting and don't have any problems.
