Renaming SD Card Files

I've just been busy renaming a load of photographs off my digital camera's SD card. I somehow managed to get them all done in sequence by selecting the files, renaming the first one "Photo 1" and pressing "enter".

However, when I come to add the files to the burn list in Nero or ImgBurn, "Photo 1" decides to relocate itself to around "Photo 8" in the list for no apparent reason. It seems to happen because "Photo 2" to "Photo 7" decide to add themselves in above "Photo 1" in the burn window list. After "Photo 8" everything is added in below the others. It's all very odd and I can't seem to alter the order of the list in the burning window. Copying and pasting makes no difference either.

It's vital that "Photo 1" is first in the list.

Can you kind people help a girl in distress. thanks

Download FASTONE a free photoviewer.
Open the folder with your photos in.

You can then drag your images around to suit the order you want.
Selet all- then tools- and rename and renumber.
Sorted!
Try renaming them to Photo 001, Photo 002 etc.

Have you perhaps sorted the ImgBurn list in date order?
See what you mean! Its this one:

BTW Faststone is worth playing more with as it does loads of things. Resizing, renaming, Improving images, adding borders etc.
It doesn't matter what order they show in the burn list anyhow, they will be put in the disk in alphanumerical order.

As wildwood says, you should name them with 2 or 3 digits in all names ( photo001 or photo01) other wise they will order themselves like this

Photo1
photo10
photo11
photo12
photo13
photo14
photo15
photo16
photo17
photo18
photo19
photo2
photo20

And so on....
