Transfering movie from sd card to bd-r disc

Hi, just wondering how to transfer our camera sdhc movies to a bd-r disc, movies are saved on laptop and home computer but when we put bd-r discs in to copy both say please insert writable disc. Tried to save on normal DVD but movies were jumpy, thought this may be because movies were HD.

Any help greatfuly received!

I presume not, why would the movies be jumpy on a standard DVD? Is it because they are recorded in hd?

Are you burning a data DVD to play on your computer or trying to burn a video DVD to play on a DVD player?

A video DVD to play on a DVD player.

There's your problem then. The DVD video standard is not HD, so whatever software you are using has to downscale the video.
