Ever since I installed software for an ISP (Spanish Wanadoo), if I mistype a URL in the address bar the Wanadoo search page comes up. How do I change this back so I get the standard IE page?

If it's just your home page you want reinstated, go to Control Panel, Internrt options and enter thr URL of the home page you want - if I type a wrong URL all I get is a box saying that page cannot be found - sorry if ive got the wrong understanding of your question here.

Thanks, but Im not talking about the homepage. Im talking about the ISPs search page that comes up when I type a URL that doesnt exist.
It's installed a new version of I.E. or a plug in. Personally I'd install FireFox and use that, I'm not smoe geek who worships all that is not Micrsoft but if FireFox can't find a page it just pops up a message and leaves you at the page you were before it was typed in.

If your not keen on FireFox Netscape does the same thing
To restore the default IE search page, you can use the Mircrosoft Anti-Spyware beta, download it from www.microsoft.com, and under the Advanced Tools there is a facility called "Broswer Hijack Restore". You can use this to reset all sorts of settings.

Good idea, but I'm running Windows 98 and the MS Anti-Spyware Beta needs 2000 or above.

This must be in the registry somewhere but I can't find it.

Try HijackThis! available from here:

Do a scan and you should be able to find the search page entry, and do a "fix"
