.. Can someone help me understand about monthly internet usage on my new T-Mobile smart phone.I can't relate to 250MB or 500MB per month..How much time is that...tia

It's not time. it an amount of data. asking how much time 250MB or 500MB is would be like asking how much time 1litre of water is.

500MB a month should be enough for a little web browsing and emails, it wouldn't be suitable for heavy use really.

Chuck is right - I use about 250MB per month for occasional browsing and regular email checking - worth installing some sort of usage checker to keep an eye on things though.

One tip, assuming your phone has wifi as well as mobile internet, always connect to a wifi hotspot (eg your home router) when you can - the usage then doesn't count against your mobile internet allowance.
