I have an HTC Cha Cha mobile phone and am on ORANGE Dolphin7 SIM only package. I am going abroad next week and want to ring home on it. I need to set up international roaming, does anyone know if they do cheap call and text bundles I can buy on this SIM only plan and how do I set it up please.
I am reposting this in Chatterbank as I've had no response in Technology section.

why dont you ring orange? or look on their website?
I don`t really know what you mean by "setting up" international roaming. The phone just roams via whichever foreign company Orange have a roaming agreement with. It`s always expensive to use your phone abroad. My T Mobile is £1.20 per minute to make and receive calls and 40p per text. You could possible buy a sim in the country you are in but the cheapest way to make calls is to buy a phonecard. Using your mobile abroad is to be avoided if possible.
You do have to switch on international roaming by ringing Orange - but it will cost you a lot to make the calls, and if anyone should ring you, you both pay - can't you just text, instead? (You still need to set up IR but texting is very much cheaper!)

Unfortunately Boxie I need to ring my Mum from holiday to check she's ok, she is 88 so wouldn't have a clue what texting means, she had a mobile phone but was terrified of it, couldn't understand how to put money on it for PAYG, she was looking for the slot to feed in the coins .....LOL ah bless her :)
