I have a Packard Bell Easy Note 7J67 laptop. When I went to wake it up this afternoon to Skype with my daughter it wouldn't switch on. The only light showing was the battery light on the front. I've checked all the connections and it is fully charged.

The "on" switch is situated on the righthand side, on the hinge. Can anyone tell me what has happened?

It's been working fine until this afternoon and hasn't been dropped or sat on.

I'm upstairs on my pc at the moment. Heeeeelp!!

Try holding in the off switch for 10 secs so you know it is properly switched off. Then flip it over and take the battery out. Say a short prayer to St Charles Borromeo, the patron saint of computers (or not - sacrificing a small mammal at this point may work just as well) then replace the battery.
I don't know why but removing and replacing the battery sometimes helps temporarily with this kind of problem.
Poor Chrissa1....
I think I would have put that answer above Mosaic although please don't sacrifice my Tobydog as he is the only small mammal in your house!! haha! (how strange after what we were just texting about?!)

Lol Mosaic. I'll try that and the sacrifice. Not having it next to me just to open up is like losing your right arm. It's freezing up here.

Where are all the techies when you need them. Cheers.

I was just thinking about doing that clipclop, because the little blighter is lying where my feet ought to be. Well, not right now you understand, cos I'm not there.
