Just came back from Sharm last night, plenty of diving goes on there and you dont need a travel visa

I don't want the dive boats too busy though and Sharm seems really popular.
Depending on where you want to go diving you may well need a visa, e.g. Ras Mohamed.
was gonna say sharm! people just scuba'd off the little piers where i was! the red sea is fab!
My mate skippers a boat for diving holidays in Turkey..............

Hi Craft, does he have a website I could look at?
ooh I'll have a look, and if not I'll try ringing him.

Thanks Craft.
If you want access to the good sites, but not so many boats, try Hurghada.

Your best option (and least expensive) is to live aboard. That way you get right out into the Red Sea, you can dive Elphinstone, and I think The Brothers is open again now. You get the bigger reefs, and the big open sea fish. Plus, you don't have to hump your kit around ... you get out of the water and dump it on deck, ready for the next dive.
I stayed at a diving hotel in Marsa Alam.

Done a few live a boards Jayne, don't know if I fancy another one just yet, did one in December.
hmmm I can't find him.................I've emailed O2 Dive @ Ipswich 'cos I know he is or was a member there.
I'd give Sharm a miss and go for Hurgada if you have your heart set on Egypt

In my opinion the best option for Red Sea diving is Aqaba in Jordan
