iPod touch app updates

My iPod touch s telling me that there are updates for the Skype and twitter apps but when I try to update them it says failed! I have tried doing it via my iTunes connected to the pc but still no joy. It won't even let me remove the apps so I can try to reinstall them. Can anyone please help?

You could try removing the app and then installing it again.

When I've had similar experiences I switch the iPod off completely, remove the apps and then re-install them.

Check that your iPod software is up to date. Some of the new updates are for iOS 5.1 which has only just come out. And some older iPod touches cannot run iOS 5 so updates to the apps will not download anyway.

Go to settings, software, to update.

Oh, and don't worry if you cannot update Sype and Twitter. The updates are merely for compatability and do not offer any new functions or improvements.
