Not sure where to post this thread!!! My partner has 18 months left on a contract with virgin with his samsung galaxy ace. The problem is his fingers are large and he has nightmare with texts etc. So hes bought a blackberry that is open....popped his virgin sim in and lo and behold he cant do emails . When we rang virgin they arent compatable with the blackberry (for ding emails). Is there any way round solving this problem. Wondering why didnt it state in the catalogue that the blackberry wont work properly with virgin sim! arrhhhh

If that is what they say then I guess it must be so. It wouldn't state it in the catalogue because I doubt the handset manufacturer/seller is going to keep tabs as the situation could change at any time and the catalouge would then be out of date. I'm very surprised though. Did Virgin say when it would become compatible ? In the meanwhile I guess the solution is to get a handset they can cope with for these ding e-mails.
I find this quite surprising, I have Virgin contract with 12 months still to run & my 'phone is a Sony Ericsson touch screen which I find very difficult to cope with so I have bought a Samsung Clam Shell type 'phone ( £22) from Amazon & put the Virgin sim in it & it works a treat. I would suggest you find a mobile phone techie ( local market etc.) who specialise in unlocking 'phones & see whether he/she can help ( I find these guys very helpful).

Ron.
I have a blackberry with a contract from Virgin mobile and mine is ok,ive never encountered a problem with emails.

the problem was because we were already in the middle of a contract. Result today though we spoke to a very helpful english gentleman who has managed to scrap the old contract and start a new one (using blackberry) for same price !!! yeyhh!!!
