I am trying to find a way to eradicate the recent files list in Open Office 3.3.0 which is growing ridiculously large.

Someone suggested using the Tools | Customise menu and removing the "Recent" dropdown entry. I did this and so I can't get to recent files BUT I can't find a way to add the "Recent" dropdown entry back again.

So that is the first problem; the second problem is that I still haven't found a way to get rid of previously "recent" files and still have the ability to have newly opened files added to the Recent file list.

Surely this must be a basic requirement and I must be missing something VERY obvious!

Thanks in adbance

Chris
If you go to where you cancelled "Recent Documents" and tick the ADD button, then select APPLICATION in the left box and then "Recent Documents" in the right hand box.
This should replace what you cancelled.
Incidentally Chris, your link doesn't work for me.
