Hi Friends,I am having problems every day with my laptop. It freezes up and is often very slow.So today I am buying a new one with lots of memory and hard drive space.I read in my books it's possible to transfer data from old comp to new via a transfer cable. If I do this will I send any problems from my old one to the new one.Is it better to transfer only the things I need now individually. This would take longer but might be better.Thanks.

The best way to transfer data from your old to your new computer is:
First, ensure that any software you require is installed on the new computer.
Go to the microsoft site and download the Easy Transfer Wizard that is right for the operating system on your old computer.
Make sure that the ETW version on your new computer is up to date.

Run the Easy transfer wizard on the old computer and tell it what to transfer.

.. you can do this using a cable, the network, or via an intermediate, such as a USB drive.
