Highlight the link. CTRL + C, place cursor in bar, CTRL + V. Job done
If you double click on the link it may open your browser automatically at that web page.
(or 'copy link location' on a R-click (if available) and R-Click + paste into address bar) Sometimes you will have 'open ... in browser' too.
In Firefox, there is a handy context entry for a R-Click ' paste and Go'
Put simply:

Highlight the link (left click the last charecter of the link, hold, and drag to other end)
Right click the highlighted text where you will see a menu appear, you want to select "copy".
Go to the address bar, right click inside the textual area and click "paste". Then hit enter/return and away you go.
