I have a Dell Aspiron mini 1010 netbook Windows XP. which I want to put back to factory state, but looking at the Dell manual which is supposed to be for this machine ,says to use a disc...netbooks don`t have!!!
Also found info. about using CTRL + F11 etc. on

Has anyone out there got one of these and have restored to factory state or has the knowledge to point me in the right direction to doing so.

Please,Please!!!!

I have no experience of notebooks but surely any "computer" will need an operating system installed, and that can come on a disk. If you don't have an installation disk then the files may be on a partition on your drive. Failing that you may need to discuss the problem where you bought the notebook, or any local notebook trader.
I have a Dell laptop and I was told that in order to restore it to factory settings I have to contact Dell and but the disc in order to take it back to the original factory settings - was told the disc would cost about £20 or so
No Idea about netbooks, but you can purchase external USB HD's that you could boot up on and do the job with maybe?

Thanks.
I have read something about a "partition" but don`t know how to find if my notebook has or not....any ideas?
A partition is the name given to a part of a drive that has been turned into a "disk" for data to be stored on. You may have one or many partitions on a drive, and they will appear, if they appear to you at all, as if they were separate disks. However they can be hidden from you, commonly to hide important files, which may be the case for a notebook.

Rather than assume one exists and start messing about with it I think you either need the manual or to ask at the shop.
