If you've got a USB cable with the camera, plug it in and the laptop should see the camera as a storage device. You should be able to drag and drop into "your photos" from this.

Thank you for your really quick answer, I will have a look in the box tomorrow.
sher, you'll have the software there with the camera....just have a look!.........
You will probably have had a CD with the camera, that will make transferring files easier, you may also find that when you plug your camera into the PC it will automatically install the required programme.

Thanks Welsh, will look in the box tomorrow and then nick one of the kid's laptops (mine doesn't like piccies). Got some lovely ones today of boy #2's birthday party (they had their faces painted and thing 2 (painfully shy) let a stranger paint his face).
Do you have an SD slot on computer/laptop? if so just take memory card out of camera, slot it in and follow instructions

Sorry you weren't all there just now - doesn't the little thing from the camera (if I can get it out) have to go into something before it goes into the laptop?
Question Author
Ps - the camera is a Sony Cybershot.
you can either use the usb cable as jason suggested,
or, if your laptop has got a memory card reader on it, you can then take the card out of the camera and insert it into the reader slot,
and copy or move your photos into your 'my pictures' or 'my documents' etc on your laptop.
depends how big the memory card is, if it says micro SD on it, then yes it has to go into an adaptor so you will be better just putting USB wire in camera and conncting to laptop, if its a normal SD card then stick it in
oops, sorry 4get, your answer wasnt there when i started typing, lol.
Load the software that came with the camera, connect the usb lead and transfer the pics over. Or if your laptop has the same card reader, say SD, remove smart card, plug the card into the laptop view the pics you dont need the software to do this
you dont need the software to use the USB cable. I dont think I've ever used the software disc on any of my cameras
Remove the chip from the camera & insert it via the USB to your pc: http://www.mymemory.c...-PRO-Duo-with-Adapter
