This is a great product. Only problem is that streaming audio hogs a huge amount of bandwidth. Don't expect to be able to download much at the same time. Possibly a program to avoid if you have a shared internet connection.

I've used it, it's completely and utterly free. Calling to the USA means that there's a second's delay so the conversation can be a bit strange while you wait for your words to echo over there.

On my PC (as I don't think I've plugged in the headphone bit of the wire properly, just the microphone part), the sound of the other person's voice comes thru my speakers so I don't need a headset/headphones, just a microphone (either of which you can get from ebay for a few quid - headphones with built in microphone or just microphone alone).

I wouldn't pay for any of the hardware on skype's site : �30 for something that you can get for a fraction of the cost elsewhere.
