Steven Hawking might be surprised to know that he's dead, since he's currently got a job on offer in today's Independent!

Perhaps you're thinking of Christopher Hitchens?

It was Richard Dawkins who died, sadly. RIP
no it wasn't, Carakeel!

Christopher Hitchens, as Buenchico says
Steve Jobs?
atheist, not appleist
Really?

He's still posting on twitter, so that'll be a bit of a blow to his views on an afterlife.
plus he is advertising for a techno wizard to help maintain his voice activating thing and his special wheeelchair, 25K a year, not a bad job as you get to travel.
"not a bad job as you get to travel"

Slowly.
no, seriously, you would have to travel everywhere he did, which is half way round the world most weeks! go on apply, it may be a pay cut but it would be a really interesting job!
25K for a graduate whiz-kid?
50K for a train driver
80K for a plumber

I'm surprised the Uni's aren't completely empty
Just a thought:
Would we be able to tell if he was dead?

Yes thank you everyone, I was remembering C. Hitchens. It is a bitch to get old and not remember everything.
It's not not remembering everything, it is the not remembering anything that is the real problem
I checked the job description, not only would the candidates be responsible for the chair, they'd also be expected to make all his travel arrangements, look after his vehicle, deal with inquiries from the press and public, prepare his lectures and conferences, and maintain his website.

So it's a PA, a website designer and a "computer and electronics whiz" all for the princely sum of £25k a year....

Bit crap really.
Though being able to put Stephen Hawking as your previous employer on a CV probably won't hurt long term career prospects.
bet you could get best seats when roger waters is on tour
And you might not even have to get up from the seat to pop to the loo.
That would cause a commodetion.
