I use Hotmail and have received an email forwarded by a friend. I notice on the email that the composer of the original email had asked that the "bcc" facility be used so that her name is not attached each time the email is forwarded. Can anyone advise how a sender may activate this facility.Thanks.

I don't know about Hotmail, but on my email account I have an options dropdown menu to activate the BCC line on the email address box. I wish everyone did this - I get forwarded emails which are addressed to every man and his dog - some work, some private.
In the top right corner of the email message window, is there not a hyperlink which says "Show Cc & Bcc"?
Even if she is cc'd a forwarded email would not go to her anyway - only a reply.

no it wouldn't, but everyone it is forwarded to would be able to see her email address.
Whenever you want to add recipients to send an email, there should be an option to add the name(s) of the recipient(s) either in the "To" field, or in the "cc" field, or in the "bcc" field.
exactly chuck, that's why I try to bcc rather than cc whenever I send to a group of people.
