Can anyone tell me how to enable the headphone socket on the front on my HP Pavillion entertainment pc, i have tried in the sound settings, setting the speakers to headphone but it does not work, music only comes out of pc speakers.

Generally just by plugging some headphones in.

I'd have a quick look inside and check it's actually connected, it wouldn't be the first time I've seen cables fall of in transit.

Front panel connectors can be very small and as Chuck said they can very easily be knocked off their connectors on the motherboard by just moving the PC.

when you plug the headphones in,it says that a jack plug has been pluged in.
